External walls

In the safe haven of your home

The comfort of your home begins with optimum wooden construction Jelovica, which offers excellent thermal, sound, fire and earthquake protection. The exterior walls of all Jelovica constructions consist of the following elements. Plasterboard, which controls humidity in living areas. Cement particle board distinguished for its exceptional load bearing capacity, non-flammability, sound insulation and earthquake safety. It is permanently resistant to moisture and mould. All Jelovica structures are fitted with double cement particle board lining. PE foil is impervious to water, thus preventing moisture build-up inside the wall. The wooden framework is fitted with thermal insulation (rock/mineral wool, wood wool). All Jelovica structures boast an exceptionally high wood content, which ensures optimum comfort. In addition, Jelovica structures consist of at least 10 cm of polystyrene foam or mineral wool, and have exterior walls with a heat transfer coefficient of 0.17 W/m2K or less. As to the façade, you can either choose the standard stucco finish or opt for a wooden façade or stone veneer. Jelovica exterior walls have a sound insulation value of 56 db and fire resistance class of REI 90.

Roof

Jelovica roof structure

Roof is the most exposed part of the house with regard to thermal influences; it heats up during the day and cools down at night, which may cause condensation. In case of poor roof ventilation, condensate can wet the rafters. We have solved this problem by installing vapour barriers on the warm side of the roof.

The construction of Jelovica roofs is statistically calculated for wind and snow loads, thus ensuring a safe roof above your head. The roof bearing wooden elements such as beams and rafters are made of certified quality dried glued laminated timber. Jelovica roofs can be prepared for any kind of roof covering (concrete, clay, sheet metal etc.). The roof structure measures 324 mm in thickness and has a heat transfer coefficient of 0.14 W/m2K.

Windows

Energy efficient windows

Exterior joinery has a great impact on the quality of living and energy consumption. Windows are installed into the external wall at the production facility in compliance with the RAL installation standards, which ensure airtight installation and minimum heat losses. The energy efficient Jelovica windows offer considerable heating energy savings. The windows are double glazed as standard; the thermal conductivity of the glass is 0.7 W/m2K, while that of the entire window reaches 1.1 W/m2K. Wooden Jelovica windows are environment and people friendly, and provide good thermal and sound insulation. Wood is a material capable of adjusting to the climatic conditions in the house, thus contributing to greater living comfort. Moreover, the very manufacture of wooden windows is energy efficient and environmentally sound.

Structural air-tightness

Air-tightness of the house envelope prevents heat loss and creates the necessary conditions for the operation of the heat recovery ventilation system. Due to the quality assembly of Jelovica houses, airtightness is already ensured during the production process. The houses thus boast minimum air leakage. A controlled ventilation system provides a constant supply of fresh air without wasteful heat losses due to window airing. The criteria for house airtightness in compliance with the Rules on Efficient Use of Energy in Buildings determine the highest permissible air change rate with regard to house type. Thus, the maximum permissible air change rate in a house without an installed ventilation system is 3 h-1, which means the entire volume of air in the house is exchanged with fresh air three times. Maximum air change rate in ventilated houses is 1.5 h-1 and in passive houses 0.6 h-1.
